This is a 1-gallon batch brewed with cider from juiced apples from Barra’s yard. We do not know the name of the apples – they are a mystery, just like Barra!
While brewing, Erin added chunks of ginger and 1 pound of dry malt extract left over from some other brewing project, and some simple common ale yeast. No maltodextrin because it didn’t need any sweetness. The brew sat for about a month, until it clarified.
I’m not a fan of ciders, but my goodness, this is damn good. I mean, really good. It IS after 12 on a Sunday, so it’s not an uncouth time to be drinking, right?
Not only is Barra awesome in many ways, but the song “Barracuda” captures her awesome fierceness perfectly.
